CSFF Tour - The Return

This month's focus for the Christian Sci-fi and Fantasy blog tour is the last book in the Mars Hill Classified trilogy by Austin Boyd: The Return. The previous books in the series are The Evidence and The Proof.

As this book is the third of a trilogy, and I've been working on some other projects recently, I didn't pick up this book to read and review it. I wish I had; I hate to miss out on good stories, but maybe I can pick it up later. Unfortunately I'm not much good for the tour this month, except I will endeavor to review other members of the blog tour and highlight insightful posts from my fellow bloggers.

First off, you can always enjoy Austin Boyd's personal site. He has a fascinating story about his attempts to become an astronaut - worth checking out! Then Becky Miller is running reviews of the series, starting with The Evidence. Come back to her blog the next two days for the other books.

Below is a list of all the participants. Peruse them, as I will. I'll be back with some specific links to some posts with new information on this promising series.

  1. It is too bad you didn't read this one, Jason. It's such a guy book. I think it is another bit of evidence in our on-going discussion how women will enjoy guy books whereas men aren't so interested in women's books.

I have a theory about that--has to do with women utilizing both right and left brain functions. Don't know if there's any way to test it out.

Anyway, I hope you can come back to these books in the near future. They're good ones. No superheros, but plenty of heros.

  2. Too bad! This is a really good trilogy, Jason. You should pick it up. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Becky, I'm not going to comment on your gender stereotypes. They just make me laugh. : )

There's still time! But read it soon... here's why.

I wrote the first book, The Evidence, in 1996, then put it on the shelf for a while. It had an airplane attack against the Pentagon, and after 9/11 I presumed that no one would want to read a book that was a copy cat. Then I wrote about rovers on Mars in 1998. Ditto the first problem... rovers went to Mars, so it sounds like a copy cat.

When I shared this story with the publisher they were intrigued... said that actually enhanced the marketability of the book. So, folks waited to see what I would put in book 2. Nostradamus? No, but it's fun to see how this shakes out.

I wrote in a scene I figured could never happen in real life. John Wells goes golfing, hitting golf balls in to the atmosphere of Venus. As soon as the book released, an astronaut went out on the space station and drove some balls in to Earth's atmosphere. Crazy, huh?

So... read The Return before it becomes reality, and we have 321 Sonyas running around Slovenia, or colonies on Mars. It's coming... just a matter of time!
